About This Event
This training course provides participants with a thorough understanding of Lean Six Sigma and its focus on achieving operational excellence by reducing defects, variation and waste. Learn how to integrate principles of process improvement, statistics, waste reduction, and finance to achieve tangible results. Master the use of LSS to quantify the critical quality and operational issues in your organization. Once the issues have been quantified, lean and six sigma analysis and techniques can be applied to identify root causes, develop improvements and sustain improvements. The course applies to manufacturing and service industries and incorporates experiential learning techniques to reinforce key concepts. As a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, you will be equipped to lead and support Lean Six Sigma projects in your organization.

About the Facilitator
Mr. Sherman has over 20 years experience successfully designing, implementing and sustaining Lean Six Sigma enterprise deployment programs. He is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional.
From 2010-14, Peter served as Director of Process Excellence for Cbeyond Communications, a publicly-traded, $500M revenue telecommunications provider, based in Atlanta, GA. Previously, Peter was a Master Black Belt with AT&T’s Product Development Group for 10 years.
Peter began his career in Japan as a visiting M.I.T. Scholar in 1986-87. There he worked with Dr. Edwards Deming, the noted American Quality expert, and learned Japanese quality practices including the Toyota Production System and Kaizen. Peter served as Lead Instructor at Emory University’s Six Sigma Program in Atlanta from 2008 -11. He also served on the iSixSigma Editorial Advisory Board from 2010—2011.
Peter has written more than 60 articles in Quality Progress, iSixSigma, Quality Digest, Quality Magazine, APICS Magazine, Manufacturing Matters, Inside Supply Management, Hospitals & Health Networks and Institute of Business Process Management.
Peter holds a B.S. in Building Construction from the University of Florida, a Master’s in Civil Engineering from M.I.T. and an MBA from Georgia State University. He is a member of APICS and Senior Member of the ASQ.
